Could add acid every other day but I add about every 3 days. I try to keep it at 7.4-7.6. When I check the ph it's almost always 7.8- 8.0. I use the pool calculator to add muriatic to adjust.

no SWG. Plaster pool in ground, add bleach based on usage. no stone in the pool.

I have a waterfall but it is rarely on. It still rises wee to week when the falls are completely off all week.

I have a pentair 5k42 that has an AUX 2 power relay available and I was wanting to put a liquid chlorine feeder on the system. Do the power relays reside on their own beaker? Can i just hook up the load and line then ground to the bus bar? Then will it power up based on how I program the...

What is the rule when it comes to how long you leave your filter pump on? Is there a simple 12 hour rule or is there a water change you are trying to reach?

Re: Borax questions what do borates have to do with chlorine levels? I thought it was based on CYA levels etc.

Re: Borax questions chlorine levels are checked daily so that's not an issue. I was hoping to have a buffering affect to the PH swings. Not being sure how much water the dog ingest, I didnt want to make a toxic environment. Sound like if you manage the pool Borates aren't that important, right?

Is it beneficial to have 20ppm of borates or is it a waste of time? I have a dog that does not drink from the pool but likes to swim, make splashes with front paws then tries to eat the splashes.
