My skimmer has some sort of waterfall feature that comes up over the intake and I've tried to find something like it online but am coming up empty. Here it is in action: Does this have a specific name? I'm probably going to have to replace it and I'd love to find one that does the waterfall...

I've found this at Home Depot, tucked way back in the garden section. You may have to clear off a layer of dust but they may have it.

But it's ours. Moved the offset (left umbrella) to that spot today, not fun when it's 87! :shock: If we're lucky the fabric will last the season. Next project, deck removal and reuse as a "pool stuff box", hoses, toys, all that jazz. Thought I'd share.

That's what we're starting to look at as well. I was checking out the shade sails too, I like those but with our soil (almost totally sand) it might not be practical for sinking posts. The research continues!

Has anyone ever done this? Wife and I are kicking around ideas and she came up with that. Or maybe a screened enclosure, but I think those are ugly as sin and very expensive as well. We're just trying to think of some way to get some shade over the pool so we might actually use it in the...

That was fast! I did pull out the fitting, everything is intact, no cracks or damage at all, but other than that old "putty" there was no other sealant on either side.

Just discovered that the return jet fixture is leaking. The leak seems to be on the inside of the pool, water's coming out around the fitting. Previous owner used some kind of putty around it on the outside (thread side but not on the threads themselves) but that's all crumbled and nasty...

Just to add my 2 cents to the mix, when we first looked at our current house I hated that it had a pool. Especially since it hadn't been maintained in at least 2 years. But I loved the location and the layout of the house itself. Now, I'm the pool guy, I still don't really care to use it but...

By blind luck (and google), I've figured out it is indeed a waterway skimmer, only part number I can find is on the lid though. Here's a couple better pictures of it. and in action:

On the Basket cover is a big "W" so I'm guessing waterpik maybe? I can't find anything in regards to a name or number. The waterfall thing is a long narrow outlet on the top of the intake, facing the pool, there's nowhere to put anything and it only works when the valve is in that "sideways"...
