your wife is correct. it costs more upfront. and it will rust the wall / frame quicker than chlorine. it will be harder on the equipment. it will probably void the warranty.

before you winterize the pool purchase an aquadoor. take the old face plate off, put the new face plate on put the cover on and you are good

read the manual for the sand filter. you should run a rinse cycle so the fine sand doesnt blow into the pool. also you shouldnt have air in the lines because you have an abg. if you still have air, bleed the air out of the sand filter doug

looks like you have a hayward matrix pump. best option would be rotate the matrix pump outlet to horizontal and purchase new filter ec50ac new base ec1161pak new union sp1480blk and eliminating a hose doug

pull the old liner out and patch it in the mean time. put a patch on the back and a patch on the front. fill the pool and enjoy. it wll take forever to get a replacement liner this year. dont worry about the sand or pad. they will dry out in a day or 2. doug
