Thanks for the link, Rocco. I used the search, but it didn't show me your post. At least that answer made me feel a little better!

    Cicada invasion!

Here on the East Coast, we are starting to hear about the impending emergence of Brood II 17-year cicadas. Apparently billions of them. Yuck! I was wondering what to expect in terms of possible pool issues. I didn't have a pool for the last go around with these bugs, but I remember them...

    "Safer" Muriatic Acid

Dont know the exact number, but it is definately not as strong as the "regular" stuff. I sent DH on a trip to get some and he brought home the Safer stuff. I figured it was the same thing. Usually it takes a half jug to knock my pool back in line, I used the entire jug and still didnt work...

    Polaris 9300? any info

I have tried putting the robot in at different places along the sides of the pool. I now just put it in at the deepend to try to get it to clean there. Maybe that is the wrong thing to do, as someone suggested. What I find in the basket when I empty it is mostly a fine dirt, so that is one...

    Polaris 9300? any info

We just bought the Polaris a month ago. So far I can't say that it's blowing my socks off with its cleaning ability. It gets stuck on the drain cover. It gets stuck on the steps. (We have a gunite pool with the rounded wedding cake style steps.) It doesnt seem to like the deep end too much...

    Instant liquid chlorine powder

Thanks for posting. I actually just saw this product in a catalog today and was wondering about it myself! Should have known it was too good to be true.

    Pool cleaner connection

We currently have a Hayward Phantom pool cleaner, a pressure-side cleaner with a booster pump. It works great when it works, but sadly that is not very often. :( We have replaced lots of parts, over and over again, and are just tired of having to fix it. We are thinking of getting a new...

SNOW! And I havent closed yet!

Running the pump and so far everything's good. Amazingly the water was still at 57 degrees when I checked on it a little while ago! Wish my trees had fared as good...heavy snow took out some big chunks of my Bradford Pears. :(

SNOW! And I havent closed yet!

Thanks Zea3! Thats what I thought also. Its supposed to hit 50 degrees the next few days, this is supposed to be a quick hit-and-run storm. The snow should quickly go away. Just makes for cold football games tomorrow!

SNOW! And I havent closed yet!

Okay, I havent closed my inground pool yet, and the weatherman says 3-6" of snow tomorrow! Wasnt planning on closing until next weekend when both DH and I are off work. Whats my best course of action? DH says we need to drain some, but I think leave it alone and just let the pump run...

    Non Blue Liners??

Our pool is not vinyl, but we do have a color wheel behind our pool light. Even then, blue is still the color we usually have on, because who wants to swim in a pool that reminds them of algae....(or blood! )
