The particulate I'm referring to isn't just floating on the top like pollen. It's more homogenous than that but I can only see it at night when the pool light is on.

I will try to wiggle them again in the morning. I have never seen anything like it so I didn't want to break it by trying too hard.

I read elsewhere that I need to add it (DE about 1-2 cups) after each time I backwash. Is this the same recommendation that you would provide. I've learned the TFP often has better advice than other places on the internet.
