Thanks Jason. If I called the city and asked for a water quality report, would it show if phospates are present? Thanks to Waterbear's sticky and your posts, adding the borates was a snap. I'm hoping the pH drift will be a little more tolerable.

We have the exact same problem and the sub that poured the deck is suppose to come by in the next few weeks and fix. A mild acid solution will remove the rust, but it will come back. We think some iron was somehow in the batch. Cleaning it works fine, but in a matter of weeks it will reapper...

Thanks waterbear. I'll head up to the pool store and get some CYA tomorrow. I know I should trust my own test vs. the pool store. Last month my own test was showing a CYA level of around 50, but the pool store said it was closer to 90.

I have a Goldline Aquarite system and the manual says the CYA should be between 60-80 with 80 being ideal. My current CYA level is 35 and other numbers are perfect. No algea and crystal clear water. I'm just curious if I should raise my CYA levels to what is in the Aqualine manual or keep it...
