I ended up adding 2 gal. of MA and my pH is now 7.2 Free Chlorine is at 0. So, I think I'll add the 2 gal of bleach and then retest the pH before I add the soda pool math suggested. thanks again for the good advice!!

I had to guess at ten as the color was off the chart. My demand test said to multiply by ten, the number of drops it takes to get to the correct color and that was 23

Pool math is telling me to add 5.1 gal of MA. I'm not opposed to that figure, I'm just worried about adding that much all at once. I'm also concerned about adding the MA and the chlorine at the same time. Seems I read (here I think) that I should wait a period of time between adding the MA...

Thanks for. The info on the water softener. I actually have one in the home but have never used it. Given the condition of the home, I was worried that it would leak all,over the floor, or in the crawl space, as it was not hooked up when we purchased the house. It's probable worth having it...

Thanks for the suggestion. Tested the tap water and the CH came in at 325, pretty close to the pool water. I know I need stabilizer, but should I be adding that in 1st, and then the bleach?

Here are my test results today, and given what pool math suggested, I'm thinking I should replace the % of water before I add stabilizer. FC - 0 PH - 7.4 TA - 150 CH - 350 CYA - 0 Poolmath says to replace 14% of the water to get the CH down and also says to add 150 oz of stabilizer. I'm on a...
