Just completed rewiring the surge panel to the J20 and everything works now! Thanks to all for the inputs -- there was some electrical tape on the connections that had melted from the afternoon sun. Clean connections for the J20 did the trick. I appreciate everyones help with this!

I have a whisperflo vs pump, the IC is the only connection on the comm link far as I know. Still under warranty far as I know so hopefully a replacement is an option if nothing else checks out.
