Install of 12x24' Semi In-Ground Doughboy Pool in Arkansas

If you were really worried about the planters holding standing water, you could hook a PVC line up to a catch basin before the patio concrete goes in. So the catch basin goes in up top in the planter and the PVC slopes down to the rear of the property. That way if you need to add drainage...

New build/ Plumbing pipe sticking out.

Yeah seems they made it harder on themselves leaving it until after the gunite was shot. My guess is the contractor didn’t have anyone reroute it before the shotcrete contractor showed up, so it was a timing issue. If patched correctly, it won’t show and won’t affect the function of the pool...

New pool (first time) build in DFW (Current Phase: POOL COMPLETED!!)

Fewer 90s is still less resistance than lots of 90s. I can imagine there being lots of elbows on some jobs that not only add to the restriction, but add to the risk of a leak because that’s more glued joints.

Hayward Tristar VS 950 Pump Really Loud

Just another point of reference; mine is the 900 (1.88 hp) and while I’m not sure it’s as loud as yours, it’s loud at full speed and can be heard inside the house on the other side of the wall from the pad. The tone is similar to yours and mine is also not sitting on isolators - it’s not even...

    New pool under construction!

I would do 1.3m or less across the whole pool. Any deeper makes the pool difficult to use.

    Pump Loosing Prime issue

A 3hp pump paired with low restriction on the return side can probably flow more water than a single skimmer can provide unless the water level is pretty high on the skimmer. In my case, a 1.88hp VS pump at full speed with 4 returns and a big cartridge filter (low restriction) will suck my...

is my Hayward ColorLogic working correctly?

What type of controller are you using for the light? For reference, mine do not do this and I’m using a Hayward automation system to control them.

Pool buried deep enough? Will retention wall work? Did I really screw up? Free laughs inside (Eastern, North Carolina)

I’ve never doubted that a pool contractor somewhere has pulled up a fiberglass pool to fix their work.

Pool buried deep enough? Will retention wall work? Did I really screw up? Free laughs inside (Eastern, North Carolina)

I suppose I should have worded that comment differently. I’m not saying they shouldn’t feel obligated to fix something the customer doesn’t find acceptable. I just know that most contractors would essentially just…not do that big of a tear up, pretty much ever. Dan

Pool buried deep enough? Will retention wall work? Did I really screw up? Free laughs inside (Eastern, North Carolina)

Frankly, the yard has a big slope which presents a challenge. I also don’t see why the PB would feel obligated to completely redo the install at this point. Having the pool up level with the house will be quite convenient and, I think, would make the pool easier to use with less chance of...

I believe that’s what the green well tube is for - a submersible pump to drain out around the pool as needed.
