    Polaris booster pump not priming

Strange one for me. My (old) Polaris 280 booster pump isn’t priming. If I turn it on, I get no pressure at the 280. But, if I pull off the hose for the top discharge outlet, and turn the pump on, it will throw water about 6 feet up in the air or so. Then if I reconnect hose and turn it on...

Please, help me understand the TFP way and why anyone would want to work on their pool daily?

I first found TroubleFreePool when I was googling how to demo and fill in a pool. I was searching for that because I was simply exhausted by my pool. Weekend trips for my "free" testing, followed by the 2 day ritual of "shocking," algaecide, and manually brushing over and over to get rid of my...

    Intractable Rust Stains

About the test, I'm in the middle of a SLAM. Just prepping for when I'm on the other side.

    Intractable Rust Stains

I pulled the nails out myself and saw the stains underneath them. Is it possible the rust is just too deep in the plaster?

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

For the duration of the crisis, I'm a price taker. I went to Leslie's for liquid chlorine yesterday after not finding any in Home Depot, Walmart, or the grocery stores. Thanks for the info on Ollies. Lewisville is a bit of a hike (I'm in far north Dallas), but I have fond childhood memories of...

    Intractable Rust Stains

So I had a second floor put on my house. Long story short, I've got a pox of rust stains on the bottom of my pool from all kinds of nails and hardware sitting there for an extended period of time. I've tried vitamin C pills directly on them. I've even filled a pair of panty hose with 100%...

New build in Round Rock, TX...Fireplace and Plaster Completed

I wonder if color is also a big factor? I'm 8' deep on the west side of my property with zero shade, and I've never got it above 86. Mine is plain old white plaster though. I think the inch or so I add of cold tap water every so often to account for evaporation also helps.

    New pool build in DFW

I would bet that is a family decision and not based on temperature. Just be aware that it may be something you have to deal with. Better to know now then hit August and be upset at yourself or your builder.

I’ll echo they grow up quicker than you think. I have a 12,10,9, and 5. I’d say this, they aren’t in any less danger in 3 feet than they are in six. Teach them to swim and use a puddle jumper until they do.

New build in Round Rock, TX...Fireplace and Plaster Completed

Good call going with a light color. If your renderings are correct, you get west exposure without too much shade. In the Texas summer, that shallow of a pool will warm up fast and I would expect your water temp to push up near 90 in the peak of the summer which for some people makes for an...

    Gratuitous backyard remodel pics

Sure. I'll put amazon links to the items, but just in case they die in the future, here's the basic concept. I picked the deck TV as the master for a variety of reasons. In the cabinet underneath it is a 4 channel amp *0. I highly recommend the amp listed **. I use a roku streaming *1 device...

    New pool build in DFW

I'm guessing if you are in DFW, you are now having trouble with permit turnaround, so maybe this isn't too late to mention. If you have a darker, shallow pool in this area, especially if it has west exposure, the water may get to an uncomfortably hot 90 or so degrees in the peak of summer. I...
