TF-Pro Kit: How to measure chlorine daily with comparator block

I bought one of these as it came recommended by a few members here. It comes with 3 different buffer solutions for calibration. I also bought some 8.2 pH buffer solution to spot check the accuracy and it has been dead (to 2 decimal places) on for over 1 month without needing recalibration...

TF-Pro Kit: How to measure chlorine daily with comparator block

Thanks @Sarah and Nate! @cwb71 if you do get a 9056 comparator make sure to get some R0004 to go with it. The instruction card that I provided calls that out.

TF-Pro Kit: How to measure chlorine daily with comparator block

Hopefully these links work. One is the pdf format of the exact card I’m using. I imagine some will want to tweak it to suit their needs so I’ve included a link to the editable PowerPoint. PDF https://drive.google.com/file/d/1u4_dHXDN74m8GRj8uuCsyS7a_m2yYfGK/view?usp=drivesdk PowerPoint...

How can i tell if my SWG is functioning properly?

In post #2 @ajw22 suggested that you should: 1) Perform an OCLT and then 2) Perform an OCGT. It looks like you did the OCGT 1st which could mean 1 of 2 different things. 1) You have algae and you SWCG can't keep up or 2) you don't have algae and your SWCG ain't doing diddly-squat. Also...

My csi is almost always too high

Info on CSI: CSI and LSI - Further Reading Looking at your logs and your current CYA should be rounded up to 80 because the scale is logarithmic. Although your vinyl liner pool doesn't require as high of CH levels like a plaster pool would, raising it to 300 or so will raise your CSI to a more...

About that sock trick with CYA

This works great for me. No squeezing and CYA completely dissolves in 1 - 3 hours with spring time water temps in the 50s (F). https://a.co/d/0L73lju

    Salt water pool over shocked

40 lbs. of salt will raise your salinity by 200 ppm. If you 2700 ppm measurement is good you'll need a couple 40 lb. bags. Go here to see how much FC you need based on your CYA level:

An Inexplicable Loss of Water after EXTENSIVE pressure testing/liner scanning/everything!!! Please HELP!

Understood. If I'm tracking, the pool doesn't leak when the pump is off and skimmer/returns are plugged. As stated earlier, at least you know your next test cases: 1) Pump OFF (skimmer/returns NOT plugged) 2) Pump OFF (skimmer/returns plugged) to see if you can duplicate the winter results
