Filter Puking Sand Into Above Ground Pool

Yup, it is filter sand. I scoop under the pump discharge with a fine net and it is clearly sand.

Filter Puking Sand Into Above Ground Pool

I am trying to open the pool, but my filter keeps puking sand into the pool and doesn't seem to be filtering at all. I did disassemble the filter last weekend and replaced a few broken septums. I also disassembled the diverter valve and verified that the sealing ridges between compartments were...

    IC40 Question

Jason, Thanks for the quick reply. I am open to suggestions, what other brands would you recommend? I do not currently have any Pentair equipment. Thanks again, Mike

    IC40 Question

This is the start of my second season with a 30'x54" above ground, 23,800 gallons by the calculator. I am looking at putting in a Pentair IC-40 to make things easier on the wife since I work rotating shifts. Local pool store tells me this system is for IG pools only, and they sell a Hayward...

Looking For First Hand Experience With Aqua Rite SWCG

Thanks for the input chief. Reading the AquaRite manual online, it states CH should be 200-400 ppm. Is this for an inground plaster type pool? Mine is currently at 40 ppm. My current TA is 80 ppm, and I plan on adding several more pounds of baking soda. Thanks, Mike

Looking For First Hand Experience With Aqua Rite SWCG

So like the title says I am looking for some first hand input on this unit. Local pool store wants $1585 including the 40K gallon cell. It can be found significantly cheaper online. I want to go with the 40K gallon cell on my 21K gallon pool to help the cell last longer by not having to work as...

    Today's Test Results

So I have another newb question: How long should I run the pump each day, and when should I run it? While the pool is in use, after use, at night? Have had the hot tub for four years but this pool stuff is new to me. Thanks.

    New To Me 30' AGP

Well things are good now, lubing the o-ring seemed to help. Now anyone have any great ideas on how to get the sand that blew out of the filter out? Just vacuum it? To waste, or back to the filter via the pump? First time pool owner so this is all kind of new to me?

    New To Me 30' AGP

Just lubed the o-ring and things are a little better. Still adding water to the pool to get it at least halfway up the skimmer opening.
