    TILE AND POOL WATER COLOR

That's the hardest thing. We spent a long time landing on it when we did our renovation. Had color chips in the water at different depths for days and days. It will probably be easier if you make the big choices first and then focus on the small stuff...What I mean is, pick the foundation of the...

    Grout haze remover

I have a janitorial spray bottle with a 50/50 water/muriatic acid mixture that I use to keep my tiles looking clear and clean and breaks down any calcium build up on the grout as well. Watch the wind direction and wear glasses, you don't want any of that near your eyes.

    Mustard be gone!

Just a quick update on this. I had to travel for work last week, so wasn't able to monitor SLAM. My wife kept an eye on the CL level, which remained high, but not SLAM high. Thankfully all the CL had taken its toll on the CYA so I wasn't having to use as much liquid CL as in the past. Last...

    Mustard be gone!

I like it! I have a few 100cc syringes at work...I'll rig one up with a tube and take the fight to the trenches! Thanks again!

    Mustard be gone!

Splash, thanks for your continued help! Just to be clear, the target FC drop is alway less than 1, regardless of FC level? From a percentage viewpoint, I'm struggling with this a little. In regards to the lights: I took them out as far as they would come and scrubbed them but obviously there's...

    Mustard be gone!

Thanks for the reagent saver tip, I'll use that until the new stuff arrives (hopefully) tomorrow... Update: FC fell from 25 to 20-21 over night (Is that what you meant by "a bit"?). Tested CA as well it's now at 40. Water has been crystal clear for the last 5 days (and wasn't really murky to...

    Mustard be gone!

Texas Splash, thanks for the super fast response! I guess I jumped the gun on raising the levels to mustard slam...I'll continue to slam until I pass the overnight chlorine loss test then do the "nuclear slam" to make sure the mustard gets knocked off. Since I rushed the gun and the pool is at...

    Awkward backyard build

I like the layout. When you replace the AC down the road can you move it around where the pool EQ is? That will make it a more peaceful space for sure. Just a thought on the light. Depending on where you plan on sitting around the pool, try not to have the light point directly at you. If we...

    Mustard be gone!

It all started when I made the mistake of thinking there was just a lot of pollen in the pool ( It wasn't) Water was clear but FC levels started to drop and I thought I had a cell problem (Again, it wasn't) I tried to run the cell at 100% for a few days and was unable to make a rise in FC...

is pool heater worth it if you are not going to cover at night?

Our 125k btu heat pump raises our 10k gal pool 1deg/hr. I’m very impressed with its capability here in FL. We don’t cover the pool, and generally lose 1-2 deg overnight. We decided against solar as we wanted to have control over pool temp so we could plan for weekends and visiting friends etc. I...

    Waterline Tile Question

We did the tile when we refinished the interior and are super happy with the results. We originally wanted small tiles but our PB talked us out of that due to the amount of grout they require. We ended up using 6"x6" tile that looks great with the coping pavers that we used. Now that I don't...

    Under PB Control/Phosphate Remover

I've had the same SWG for 5 years now, and in the summer I run it at 70% for 10 hours a day and it keeps it at 3% pretty nicely. I do use the "Super Chlorinate" feature once a week in the summer and it stays on track. It will definitely be a T15 when this one gives up the ghost... Thanks for...

    Under PB Control/Phosphate Remover

So we're a 6 weeks in from first adding water to our refinished pool. I have been following the PB instructions to the letter to make sure that there are no warranty issues with our pebble finish. The PB has been out to inspect and has taken periodic samples and I took a sample to the PB to make...
