Magic eraser removed soft yellow coating exposed during closing

Positive magic eraser experience to remove soft yellow stain visible on walls after dropping the water level during closing. Background My pool remained crystal clean (following pool math) after opening (May’23) until 1 week before closing (Oct 12,23) when falling leaves, dirt and debris from...

FC and pH test sensitivity as samples measured 8hrs apart had different values

Two Taylor 2006C samples taken 8hrs apart showed increase in FC and pH. The night before it rained/stormed all night. I cleared debris and baskets and tested the water. The FC 0.8 and pH 7.0 were low. I was about to add both Pool bleach (2 gal) and increase the pH, however, I waited and did...

1969 Gunite single pool light replacement - A case of leave well enough alone to avoid potential leaks?

Is this a case of leave well enough alone....dont touch the light to avoid leaks? Question: Can a 1969 built gunite pool with a light (in disrepair) in the deep end be replaced without draining because the light niche constructions are similar to current pools that allow replacement under water...

1969 gunite pool ladder brackets are threaded, looking for how to attach a new ladder to the deep end

Thank you also for your thoughtful insights and knowledge sharing. Will look at the options you are suggesting, and thanks for the Saftron ladder suggestion. Separately I will be adding another thread regarding replacing the light in the deep end and hope I can benefit from this forum ample...

1969 gunite pool ladder brackets are threaded, looking for how to attach a new ladder to the deep end

Thank you for the insightful comments that provide a probable explanation. Identified a Paragon 19" width ladder #42302 that has dimensions that could slide into the existing sockets. You raise a key question about the bonding. If the original sockets are not bonded, and I find a stainless...

1969 gunite pool ladder brackets are threaded, looking for how to attach a new ladder to the deep end

Been searching for a way to use the existing threaded ladder brackets in a gunite pool built in 1969 in Ohio/USA to install a new ladder. There used to be a ladder based on photos prior owners have sent me, but they don't have memory or knowledge on why the ladder is missing. I want to avoid...

Slow upward trend for Phosphate and TDS

Thanks. One of the differences I noticed early on with PoolMath and store results is the different ideal range limits each use, and that I'm using the PoolMath ranges for guidance. I will adjust to reach a target Chlorine of 7-9 for the higher CYA levels I have, which have not reduced much.

Slow upward trend for Phosphate and TDS

Thank you and understand the feedback. I am only using Leslie's for the tests I don't run (TDS,Phosphate,Copper) for completeness. I am relying on TFP/Pool Math and not the pool store :). As I continue to learn, and based on your comment, the filter would take care all the undissolved solids at...

Slow upward trend for Phosphate and TDS

Since opening in May, the chlorine pool has remained clear and mostly a TFP thanks to the advice from this group, use of Taylor K-2006C and poolmath. The chemical requirements have been mostly +2gal Liquid Chlorine about every week, with pH/Alkalinity/Hardness moving in and out of range when it...
