All went well with the install. Re-plumbing was a slight pain but not too bad. The Pentair seems to be MUCH higher quality than the Jandy I replaced so I'm hoping to get more than 6 seasons out of this one. Now to address the copper staining!

Replying to myself now but just in case anyone else is following, it looks like the supplied unions accept a 1.5" pipe on the "inside" and a 2" pipe fits over the "outside". Pump arrives in a couple of days so I'll confirm when I get it all installed...

Heh, good catch! Yes, I have a Raypak 400K BTU. I'll add it to the signature! Sounds like I can save a little cash and go with a smaller pump. Still need to do some homework on how the 1.5" - 2" conversion fittings work on this Pentair. I see text references to them but I haven't seen a pic yet.

Leaning towards the 1.5HP Pentair SuperFlo VS (342001) as the most cost effective option but it shows that it's 1.5 inch with some adapters to 2" plumbing. Also, it's shorter than my original pump so I'd need to raise it about 2" to match the inlet from the pool plumbing. Am I barking up the...
