    like Jason said, straight forward, installed a hayward myself last year and very happy with it. Gas: doable/be careful and lookup your local codes, also hayward will void warranty if you forget to connect a straight pipe into heater... see manual.

    Turning pool light on: stays on green Then turning light off and back on: light starts changing color rainbow style. Trying light to default to rainbow style. don't know name or brand of light. Any ideas?

    have the aquarite, very happy with it. was set at 25% for a covered16k pool and just measured 8ppm fcl so dialed back to 15%

    even if you end up not installing a SWG consider just adding salt (cheap)... that was my original thinking, then I enjoyed the salt so much that I added a swg a couple weeks later (easy DIY project)

    The other extreme - very LOW chlorine demand!

    well, what's the water temperature? with cover and low water temp I observed very low chlorine demand in the past (pre swg days) as well. Just touching the swg panel with transformer inside tells me if it's working/generating or not.

    you can trick the pentair into priming for 10 mins max by adjusting the priming sensitivity but that's about it...

    16x48 intex equals around 5000 gallons so adding 2 bleach jugs 8.25% should clear up your pool within 1-2 days. Keep the pump running.
