How the heck do I connect a 2" backwash hose to a 2" pvc backwash hose???

The Gorilla hose is reinforced with fiber, so it doesn't stretch. At all.

Vacation and pools - you guys are awesome!

As Jim Marshall said, this may be the one time to use pucks in a floater. We were gone for six days in June and we have no one within 30 miles that we could ask to add bleach. I pushed my FC to 15 (about double my norm) and put four pucks in a floater and ran the pump for about eight hours per...

    What's growing on my hose?

Think I have figured this out. I spent some time looking at the growth and it appeared to be the dots are held in a gelatinous substance. I surmised they were some sort of eggs. Then today, while lying on a float, I watched a dragonfly deposit her eggs on the hose. So I solved the mystery, but...

    What's growing on my hose?

Sorry to be so long in reply; I've been out of town. It is on the outside of the hose to my Polaris pool vacuum. I'd never heard of artillery fungus until you mentioned it. Can it grow on a hose submerged in chlorinated water? If that's what it is, how do I get rid of it? Does it pose any danger...

    What's growing on my hose?

I don't have a sand filter; I have a DE grid filter. I don't think it's sand because it doesn't feel gritty like sand (or even dirt). Thanks for the suggestion, tho.

There seems to be a problem with the last picture. Trying again. Thanks.

    What's growing on my hose?

I don't think it's dirt. It appears as groups of uniform brown dots that seem to grow in size (the groups grow in size, the individual dots stay the same). I'll try to post a better picture. It comes off the hose by rubbing or lightly brushing it. Thanks!

    What's growing on my hose?

Can anyone tell me what's growing on my Polaris hose? I've been maintaining the proper FC level and had .5 overnight chlorine loss. I just noticed this yesterday, but don't see it growing on other obvious surfaces (inside the skimmer, etc.). Is it time for a slam? Thanks.

Thanks. That confirms what I thought.

    Timer doesn't turn

I have an Intermatic PF1102T timer which is 11 years old. Beginning several months ago, it randomly would stop turning. If I spun the dial a revolution or two, it would begin turning again. Now it has stopped turning completely. It still operates the pump if I manually turn it to a place on the...

    Help with extremely high cya

Will do. Once the FC gets to the proper range, should I check it daily and add chlorine every evening, as necessary? What should I expect my daily FC loss to be? Should I be on the lookout for any red flags? Thanks, again. I love this site. Wish I'd found it years ago. I'm a true convert, no...
