    Flow Switch for Goldline SWG

My 5 year old switch just died also. I just ordered mine from CA also. Thanks for the advice on the phone wire. It will keep me going until my new switch arrives. I agree with you about the gal on the phone. Very friendly and helpful.

    A big thanks!

Proof. Little brother, too. Pool temp. 53 (Rite of Spring) Dog "yelling" - "You idiots!" As for the sanity of the daughter: She just went through In Processing and a Swearing In Ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. (A future leader?)

    A big thanks!

Silver02qt From opening to being able to see down near the deep end was 2 weeks. But, I didn't get my test kit until May 22 so I was somewhat hampered in my approach. I simply added a low shock level of bleach. Once my kit arrived, I reached the appropriate shock level and kept it there...

[attachment=1:1vharasn]May 2 Opening.jpg[/attachment:1vharasn]As you can see from the first picture I opened to a "green MN swamp." All I wanted was a clear pool for our daughter's high school graduation party last Sunday night. Following the advice on your site and a TFT kit we got it done...

    Solar Blanket + Help

Brought the FC to 11 and covered the pool. Left SWCG on super chlorinate. Everything looked good this morning with an overcast day predicted. I left the cover on today as I want to kill all the algae. I'll check FC tonight. Thanks for all the advice.

    Solar Blanket + Help

If I put the cover on, do I have enough FC to kill the potential algae? Any idea what the yellow slimy stuff is? (Mustard Algae?)

    First swim today!

Congratulations. We just had our first one today too, up in MN. Took about 2 weeks of following the advice here to get it up and running. Don't forget to unhook your wife, before it gets dark  Chris

    Solar Blanket + Help

Re: Solar Blanket + Help! We had a wonderful pool party today and I finally went to put on the cover and as I sprayed it off there were "pockets of green algae and some very yellowy looking slimy algae" all the way through each layer of the clear cover. We sprayed it off and then sprayed...

    SWG Salt ?

Thanks! I'll just stick with water softener salt then and make sure the purity is above the 99.4% recommended. Also, should I delete a post like this now that my questions have been answered? Thanks, Chris

    SWG Salt ?

Have you or anyone else had issues with "dirty salt?" Is the pool store salt that is supposed to be "super" pure really worth the price?
  14. chrisjb8685

    SWG Salt ?

For the last few years I have been using EcoWater Solar Salt which lists itself as 99.7 % pure. I use the same salt in our softener and have noticed that there have been some contaminants or something in the salt that has left a dirty ring in the brinewell and filthy water when the salt has...

sand or dirt or debri back in pool afrter vacuuming

You mentioned in a earlier post that you hook up your vacuum to the hole at the bottom of the skimmer below the basket. I'm not sure about the sand back in but I was told not to hook up directly to the hole below the skimmer basket as you could inadvertently vacuum something large that could...
