    Recommended cover reels

It's an 18-foot-wide pool with a cover that's 18'8" (my wife refuses to let me cut it to fit the exact width; go figure). I ended up ordering this reel (link below) in 24-feet wide with the 5" aluminum core. It is beefy! I did this for maximum strength, so as I could telescope in the sections...

So, did you replace them? Do you still cover your pool?

    Recommended cover reels

I've reviewed threads in this section and done a search through the archives, but I can't seem to find any recommendations for solar-cover reels. We have fought with ours for almost two years, replaced broken wheels on it, and cursed it every time it takes two and three of us to uncover and...

    Refurbishing an Aquabot

I have funds this year to refurbish the classic Aquabot we inherited along with our inground pool a couple years ago. I don't know the age or model number, but suffice it to say it's probably an original Aquabot, nothing newer or fancy. I've partially disassembled it and it desperately needed...

Stenner liquid chlorine pump - How to choose and install

It's been a while since I've had a peristaltic pump like the Stenner. I'm not sure what to make of of this air gap just off the pump on the pressure side. Should I be concerned? (I see now it might be difficult to see, so there's a gap all the way down to the low point of the line. It does seem...

    Concrete deck is too hot!

Three-foot apron around perimeter of 18x36 pool, then a patio between pool and house (including french drains) that is probably 40x12.

    Concrete deck is too hot!

Title just about sums it up. When it's 80 or more and the sun beats down, our poured concrete deck is almost too hot to walk on with exposed feet. What are my options (starting with cheapest first ;-) )?
