Help with possible pool overflowing issues, long distance!

....not to mention a higher water bill, and they had our pump running 13 hours a day! Unfortunately, had there been a renter in place these past couple of months, maybe they would have caught the issue sooner. Starting to think it might be easier to sell the house, and if we want to stay in the...

Help with possible pool overflowing issues, long distance!

So.... according to the plumber: The pool fill valve was leaking. The shutoff valve to the fill valve was off by the main shutoff valve on the side of the house. The main shutoff and the pool's shutoff valve were replaced. They had to return to replace the pool fill valve and a vacuum relief...

Help with possible pool overflowing issues, long distance!

Well, looky what my friend discovered we have: He's not a pool pro, but he does take care of his own pool... He also took a pic of this: He said the bottom lever was on and the top blue lever was off. Wasn't sure if it had anything to do with the situation.

Help with possible pool overflowing issues, long distance!

Ooh, I found out what this looks like (on this site of course!). I wasn't thinking to look for an auto fill valve since I was told several times that there is not one over there. However, I think my pool guy is off his rocker. Now that I know what to look for, hopefully I can get someone to run...

Help with possible pool overflowing issues, long distance!

So just to verify what pabeader and Dave said.... when you say plastic covers, you mean those white round covers on the side of the pool by that planter? Is this something that can be checked by just taking off the cover, or is it not visible until the water level goes down? Going to try to...

Help with possible pool overflowing issues, long distance!

Hi there, {sorry this is so long!} I've posted in the past before, regarding possibly putting in a pool in our home in CA, and that's probably scrapped for now, but still have our inground spa... I'm hoping that someone can help me with an issue we are having with our house in South Florida...

New pool build in South Florida. Many pics, I promise none of bugs!!!

Aww, I used to live in Weston! Your house reminds me of ours - only we did not have the covered patio area. We thought about putting in a pool, but ended up moving to Wellington, and the house already had one. Good luck with your build - I will keep checking your progress, as it's going to look...

    Coping question

I saw a pool done by one of the builders I'm considering, and the coping and surrounding patio were quartzite. Absolutely gorgeous. (Apparently the owner wasn't trying to keep costs down like many of us.) The PB said it is the hardest stone, and his mason guys went through several blades because...

    New design renderings; Thoughts?

I'm torn. I like the water features in #2, and it would look nicer from inside your house. I also like the steps going up to the spa. But I hear you on the access to the planters. I've wondered how to access the landscaping there, but I guess enough lawn/garden maintenance people are used to...

    SoCal Rock Pool

Wow, that's just gorgeous! I could live with my rock waterfall spa if the rocks looked like yours.

Keep existing spa or start fresh?

Thanks, Suz! You made a good point about how long we'd live in the house. The most we have been in any of our houses have been 7-8 years, and of course the last house we lived at in FL I vowed I would never, ever move again. And here we are in CA, due to my husband's job relocation. We've both...

Keep existing spa or start fresh?

Hi there, I've been checking out a lot of your posts lately, to try to get ideas and advice, and now I thought I'd post our dilemma. The last house we lived in FL had a pool already built in, with spa. My husband used the pool the most. He loved being able to lounge around in the pool with a...

Pool Studio or hire a landscape architect?

Thanks, we love it here. Our backyard overlooks the golf course down below. We have no chance of being hit by flying golf balls up here! The things like trees, house windows/doors, firepit, waterfall - those were all elements from the library. If you bring in one tree and duplicate it, that's...

Pool Studio or hire a landscape architect?

Oh - before I forget - Pool Studio has MASSIVE computer requirements. I had to do this on one of my husband's laptops, as it is not Mac friendly unless you use Bootcamp with Windows. They have a large video card requirement. It took awhile for screen redraw on this program. If you look on Pool...

Pool Studio or hire a landscape architect?

This is what our backyard looks like now. We have a spa and a grill area, and are ditching the gazebo that was torn apart in the "snowstorm" on Dec 30th. Trying to keep costs down by keeping the spa and grill area, although I'm not totally in love with the way they look. We want a covered patio...
