I measure CYA with a chemical test kit by TAYLOR, I had it at right about 60 , question now is, can I run 2 swcg's in series? That signature is old, I bought a pretty nice kit after that one. I have the chlorinator to swap either on the minimum or medium setting, the instruction manual says...

That's exactly why the one little girl adopted us, her dads parents aren't in her life so she latched on to us, I babysat that little girl from the time she was about 2 until they moved, she always wants to stop & see us when she is in town visiting my granddaughter.

Learned today that our youngest daughter is providing another grandchild! This will make 16 total, 10 biological, 1 that adopted us when I babysat her, and 5 more from the daughters spouse. It matters not that any of them are not biological, they are welcome as family and will be loved equally.

I ordered extra intex plunger valves, they will fit any fitting that the hoses will fit on, the drain port on the 6 valve way is this size. Mine always leaked there until I put the valve there, from there I used an extra pool hose to tie it into a drain line for backwashing etc.

Did you install the o-rings on the pump nose before installing the strainer and ring nut?

Pull the impeller cover/volute and give the impeller a spin by hand, then plug it in and try it before reassembling it, if it runs then reassemble and reconnect it and try it again.

I decided to check the balls this morning, a grey slimy c coated them, found bits of fiber on the strainer of the 6 way valve, dumped the balls and refilled with filter sand and now running again. The comments here got me to thinking and questioning, do they really work as well or outlast? IDK...

That would be 18 inches to achieve 17 feet, but I can tell you from experience that if you can afford allow plenty of area around your filter & pump, get a sand filter so cartridges don't keep you broke, they can be clean some, but you never get it all out, also invest in some sort of surface...
