Ok I went rogue on the pool yesterday. Dumped a ton of bleach in as a last ditch effort. Woke up to this So I dosed it with clarifier and now I'm waiting to see if this worked once and for all.

I drained to a bit less than a foot, actually. Dumped a ton of bleach in and watched the algae die, supposedly. It went from green to white. I had a bucket of bleach water & scrubbed the walls and ladder. Then refilled. Yes I'm very frustrated. We just got the pool in May. I wanted to have...

Ok, here's what I did: 1. Drained the pool to about a foot. Killed the green with bleach. Brushed the walls & ladder with diluted bleach. Soaked the cartridge and hoses in diluted bleach. Removed debris (small as it was), brushed pool religiously (from inside, so I could help stir the water)...

That's what I was afraid of. I have a shop vac. I'm thinking of draining and sucking out what I can, then using bleach to finish off the rest until it's clean & refilling it. [expletive!!!!] At least I know what went wrong so I can fix it for next summer. Luckily we have a solid few weeks left...

I just tested again. FC = 19ppm CC = 1ppm Paper towel still white (no iron in water). Pool still green. What does this mean?

Does my CC matter? It was 2ppm when I tested a few days ago
