    Rehab or Infill??

As a non-invested third party I would love to see the progress pictures getting this to a TFP-level pool. Do you have any idea if the mechanicals work?

    Maintaining

I've completed my SLAM and my pool numbers are pretty much where I want them. The pool is clear and I'm super happy! So, what now? Is there a rule of thumb for maintaining my prescribed level of FC? Should I adding a little bleach every day....a moderate amount every couple days? Or - do I...

    Increasing TA

Ok - great! Pool is nice and clear and I'm super happy. I do have a question about maintaining post-SLAM which I'll start in a separate thread.

    Increasing TA

It's only a bit on the low side. I test it at 50, while my prescribed range is 70-90.

    Increasing TA

According to PoolMath, I need about 9lbs of baking soda to increase my 27k pool TA by 20 points. Does that sound right? Where can I get baking soda in that amount? A big box store? Any specific method to adding it? Or the standard: dump it into the deep end of the pool?

First "Real" Test of the Season #'s - Cloudy Pool

Well, the labels on the sight glass are in increments of 10, but they're spaced far enough apart that it's not too difficult to interpolate the ones digit. I know all the FC/shock numbers are based off of 10's, so I just round as it's appropriate.

First "Real" Test of the Season #'s - Cloudy Pool

Got home to a less cloudy pool. On the way! First chance I got to check the numbers was last night: FC: 0 pH: 7.6 TA: 50 CH 270 CYA: 41 (had rain while gone) We can see to the bottom at the middle (about 5') of the pool now, which is a huge step in the right direction. I didn't leave...

First "Real" Test of the Season #'s - Cloudy Pool

I just realized....I am leaving for the weekend (wedding) tomorrow afternoon. I imagine I should wait to start the SLAM until I return? I can add the CH, at least.

First "Real" Test of the Season #'s - Cloudy Pool

Thanks! Should I get the CH levels to where they need to be before the SLAM? Or, can I throw in the bleach and calcium chloride together? I'll take a picture once I get home!

    Pool Math........The App

I'm not sure if this has been noted or not - but on my phone, I am not able to enter ".0" following any numbers. The "0" is treated as a delete key and backspaces over the "." This happens on all input fields (for pool readings). I have a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 running Android 7.0

Testing for CYA with Taylor K2006 not registering

I'm new but I can say pretty confidently that your CYA is most likely just that low. Buy some CYA power/granules from the store and put them in some filter socks in your skimmer. It took about 5-6 lbs for me to go from 0ish CYA to 50.

First "Real" Test of the Season #'s - Cloudy Pool

So here's my first full test after having to order some refill reagents: FC: 4.0 pH: 7.8 TA: 50 CH: 110 CYA: ~55 My pool was a green monster when I opened it...we had a bunch of leaves and stuff leftover on the bottom because we closed SUPER late and couldn't get everything out. The pool...

    Handy Chart for Adjusting?

I was curious if there was a reference chart for what to add in order to adjust certain levels? Like....increase pH - do this; decrease pH - do this. There are a couple around the interwebs, but I was curious if there was a TFP-approved visual aid. Thanks!

    Out of R-0013 - Strips?

Unfortunately, I don't; but I expect it was on the lower side. I think that's enough for me to start from though. Thanks for the idea. I've got Amazon Prime, but the quickest they could promise delivery was the 31st. I think I'll just SWAG it and adjust once juice gets here.
