Yes, I used o-ring lube. It's an sp4000x series pump. I actually have 3 in the system. I ordered a new strainer cover lid to replace a cracked one and it comes with an o-ring so I suppose that will shed light on the issue.

I bought a home with a Hayward Northstar pump. THe pump has blue o-rings in it. These o rings sit on top of the basket, rather than in the groove around the pump housing. I purchased these on amazon. These fit in the groove nicely, but now I cannot close the lid. So my question is am I...
