    Pentair Superflo 350097 maintenance

I haven't been emptying the pump strainer basket in quite some time (3+ years). I don't have the manual. Is this the correct one? https://www.pentair.com/content/dam/extranet/nam/pentair-pool/residential/pumps/superflo/user-manuals/superflo-pump-manual-english-pre-2021.pdf And more generally...

    Too-frequent pH lowering?

I'll start lowering the TA later today and report back. One hypothetical: Let's say I do get the pool to 30 or 40 TA and that keeps the pH at 7.6.... how do I deal with the fill water of 50TA and keeping the pool water in the 30-40 range? I guess I'd just have to perform the TA lowering...

    Too-frequent pH lowering?

Great question! Fill water is also 50 TA. I follow the logic of the no cover/aeration contributing to the pH rising. But I can go a couple of weeks between water fills and still see a rise in pH.

    Too-frequent pH lowering?

I have a similar scenario to the one described here: https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/muriatic-acid-needs.302336/ My pool: TA: 50 CYA: basically zero - it's an indoor pool Calcium: 300ppm I keep the FC between 1.5 and 3.0 My problem: I am putting 8oz of 31.45% Muriatic Acid in about...

    White mold?

What's a good method for evaluating air getting into the system? It is quite old, I think it turned 50 this year.

    White mold?

Today's test results: 2.0 FC 0.0 CC 7.6 PH 50 TA 300 CH CYA under 30 I've got floating white material on the pool surface. Everything seems to be in order with water chemistry. I've read on google that this is white mold, but not a lot of amazing threads here that match what I'm seeing.

    Concrete deck expansion joint repair

See attached photos. I stripped out my pool's old sealant a couple years ago and applied Vulkem 45 SSL into the expansion joints. I filled in the gaps with some foam backer rods before applying the Vulkem. I expected the sealant to do a better job of adhering to the adjacent slabs, but in many...
