Ha, I just read a post below, I did not know there was a product called 'Green to Clean'. :oops: I did NOT use it to clear my pool. 12% Bleach, 3 lbs of CYA, about 15 backwashes and elbow grease did the trick.

Something I learned here a couple of weeks ago: If the builder puts rebar in the concrete make sure it is connected to the pool bonding wire(s). 8)

I'm curious - what kind of light is it ? Your description of the problem sounds like a ballast overheating and resetting, which means there is a short in the wiring, ballast, or bulb. I would call an electrician if you don't see an obvious problem when you pull it out. I would also disconnect...
