Ha, I just read a post below, I did not know there was a product called 'Green to Clean'. :oops: I did NOT use it to clear my pool. 12% Bleach, 3 lbs of CYA, about 15 backwashes and elbow grease did the trick.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned ... Don't put a main drain in your pool unless you really need one due to location or some other reason. If you have to have one, make sure you can turn it off and that it's always off when your kids are out there. Good luck with your pool !! :-D

Yep, that's what I used too, with #6 wire because Lowe's didn't have #8 bare. I originally attached them to the aluminum walls with zinc-plated nuts and bolts, but the inspector had me replace them with brass. I also sprayed them all with some undercoat I had in the garage.
