ok so pentair is the choice. I run my pump from 0100 to 0500 and from 1300 1700 each day and i set my SWG to 20% output So will I have to run the pentair for longer periods? Will i need to change the SWG output? Also for vacuuming I suppose it will take alot longer with only 3/4 HP vs. my 1.5...

I need to replace a my pump. I have an old doughboy 1.5hp and it's going bad. 11,000 gallon above ground pool, salt, doughboy filter with 2sq ft. filter area and 225lbs. sand 1.5" plumbing close to 30' long and I think it normaly runs at 11.5 psi. I was thinking that 1hp would be enough with...

awesome thank you. mine is a lil different. there is a piece of pvc in the center that is connected to the fins and the fins are bolted to the bottom of the filter so it is pretty sturdy. Yhanks for letting me know not to get sand in the pipe.

ok i got all the nasty sand out of the filter sprayed it out and wiped it down. i was just wondering if there was anything special i need to do when adding the new sand eg..add some water then add the sand? do i need to do anything in the first week after i put the sand in?

that one is actually a lil more expensive but looks to be a better pump also.

Yeah i talked to the pool store today and the suggested a spec. 1hp for $275.00 (Model E71-1 click) does anyone have have experience with one of these? Sorry pool guy but that pump is costs more than my pool is worth!
