2 Commercial Pools - Reopening Project

Thanks, Ping. Here is my course of action for today: 1. Pour some acid directly into the pools. Our automatic feeder pumps are running, but they go slowly and the PH is still fairly high in both pools. 2. Run the vacuums and try to clear up some of the dirt 3. Hyperchlorinate - I only did it...

2 Commercial Pools - Reopening Project

Thanks! To answer your question, no we do not use any CYA stabilizer in our pool. We keep our free chlorine levels between 1.0-4.0 ppm and I haven't really ever had any complaints about eyes burning or skin irritation--although I have only been here for a little over one year.

2 Commercial Pools - Reopening Project

I have gotten help in the 201 forum before...I know some users here also have experience with commercial pools. I am a Certified Pool Operator and our facility has stayed in touch with our Department of Public Health to assure compliance. We rarely use the granular chlorine except whenever...

Commercial Pools - Need to Cut Down on Acid Use

Thanks for the replies! The alkalinity may be the answer. I did recently add a significant amount of baking soda in an attempt to raise it. I knew that raising TA also slightly increased PH, but I did not think I would notice such a change in acid use. My whole hope was to raise TA around 120...

Commercial Pools - Need to Cut Down on Acid Use

I am the Aquatic Coordinator at a collegiate fitness center with two indoor pools and I have worked here for around 6 months. Maintaining proper chemical levels has been easy, but in many ways I am still learning the ins and outs of how these pools truly operate. My signature contains the specs...
