    Bleach prices 2013

Went to Rural King in suburban St. Louis today (IL side of river) Got 4 gallons of 15% for $10.49 plus tax. If my math was right, I get $0.137 -- please double check me :-) I believe their regular price is $11.99 which still isn't bad. Edited to add: It says "Available Active: 15% Sodium...

    Opening Question

Last year we installed our AGP and so this is our first opening. I have a question... The weather here (St. Louis area) has been wonky. Last week we were under frost advisories at night. Now it's in the 80s-90s and staying there. I shocked the pool at closing and it's been covered all winter...

    Bleach shortage?

I bought the last 3 121 8.25% bottles, though there was plenty ofsmaller expensive bottlesbof, clorox and lavender bleach. The smaller jug is nice I guess though I just got a feel for the new pool and now have to adjust my thinking. I had no idea they were switching so it caught me off guard.

Why would a pressure gauge read 0

Mine reads 0 when pump is on low, but 10 when it's on high... not hijacking, but posting so I can follow the answers to this!! Pool store guy was not concerned when I told him it was 0 on low. *shrug*

    need to lower my TA

The muriatic acid will lower the pH and also has the effect of lowering the TA, though the pH should be your primary concern. Try to maintain between 7.2 and 7.8. With a TA of 200, it will tend to drift up every couple days so test and redose as needed. Use the pool calculator before you just...

High PH, High TA, High CH, Low CL, Low CYA-what to do first?

Re: High PH, High TA, High CH, Low CL, Low CYA-what to do fi Check around for the muriatic acid - I use a lot of it! Found it at the "rural king" for 3.99/gallon --- it's over $11 at the hardware store. BIG difference.

divot in floor of new AGP

My pool is about 5 weeks old... Could it be a footprint? I'm noticing some crevaces which I can only assume are the ground cracking beneath the pool. we even have the "perfect" (ha!) pool bottom... I'd hate to see "imperfect". You can always call your installer too and have them check it out. I...

OH, I definitely have sparklypoolitis!! We went to a water park for a family birthday and I stood on the side most of the time staring at the water in disbelief :-) Here's an early July picture, though I need to get some new ones that highlight the sparkly water! :-) I just wish I could capture...

So, we're just past the 5 week mark with our pool and it couldn't be easier! I resisted the pool for a couple years because of all the "work" and "money" it was going to cost to maintain it. We have this site to thank for my willingness to take the plunge! Had guests over to swim and the kids...

Gladon's Perfect Pool Bottom PPB 4000

Well, I bought gorilla pad... but the pool store was out of our size pool so they upgraded us and replaced the gorilla pad with ppb... it buckled when the installers put it down so there are ridges. Its annoying, but the vacuum still goes over them. Wrinkles too. I think if they would have laid...
