How I cool down my Pool

Thank you! My friend asked how I cool it down during the summer, so I figured I would make a little video out of it. I have to do this 2/3 nights a week or the temps would be around 95. It just feels so weird jumping in a pool that hot. lol

I made this little video showing the fountain I use to drop my pool temperature. Let me know what you guys think.

How low is too low for TA?

My TA always seems to be a little low. It settles are 40ppm. Here are my current test results. FC:5 CC:0 pH:7.5 TA:50 CYA:40 On a few occasions I have added a lot of baking soda to being TA up to about 70, the adding acid to being pH back down. But after a few weeks, TA will settle back down...

    Calcium Hardness and Vinyl

So I currently have a pool technician repairing my light as we speak - He doesn't sound too happy to be here, but that's besides the point. lol I've tried to make his day better. Anyways, he's stressing that Calcium Hardness is EXTREMELY important for my vinyl pool, but I'm sure I've read that...

    Vinyl Wearing at Waterline

Hi all, Does anyone know what could be causing my Vinyl to be wearing along the waterline? The vinyl is only about 3-4 years old from what I've been told - I've only lived here 2 years. I switched to the TFP method last year and haven't had any issues since :) My only suspicion is that it...

    New Sand - brown/green water

Maddie, I don't mean ending as in next week or anything, just that it's winding down. And the water I've been adding during the partial drains is 65F so it's brought my temp down to low 70s. Glad to know of other TFPer(s) nearby! :) PA girl, This all started because I went on vacation on the...

    New Sand - brown/green water

Update: My numbers as of this morning, first morning after partial drain, were as follows: FC: 19 CC: 1 pH: 7.4 TA: 100 CYA: 100 40-50 cya is my overall target, but I may try to slam if I can get it down to 70-since the season is coming to an end here. To answer the above question, I had...

    New Sand - brown/green water

Update: I received my Taylor test kit and found my CYA to be around 120-140ppm. The kit doesn't test over 100ppm, so I used half pool water and half tap water and doubled the results. I am so upset with myself for letting the cya get that high. I was just following clorox's ideal range of...

    New Sand - brown/green water

Thanks for the information. I've just started exploring the idea of SLAM and how useful it is. I have been researching all day and am now shuttering at the thought of adding all the useless "pool store chemicals" I added this week. My Taylor k2006 is on the way and I am waiting with bleach on...

    New Sand - brown/green water

My apologies. I do not have the Taylor test kit I see referenced in here a lot. I'm currently using a pool master 22270-5-way test kit from Amazon. As of this morning: FC = 5 CC = 5 pH = 7.6 TA = 100 I have a 30k gallon in ground vinyl pool with all brand new hayward equipment. I had no...

    New Sand - brown/green water

I put new sand in my filter a week ago. It was only off for a day while I was working and redoing some plumbing. After I turned the filter on, my water was brown by the end of day. I've balanced everything perfectly and used algaecide because it turned green. It's currently green/brown but all...

Pressure side pvc leak - help

Would it be a good idea to put a fitting extender over the elbow? That way it wouldn't reduce flow, but it would allow me to extend the elbow and not dig up concrete. I saw it in this video. I'm not sure of the technique used in this video, so that's why I am asking to see what you pros believe...

Pressure side pvc leak - help

It's just where you see that drip in the picture. Coming from the left side of the coupling there.

Pressure side pvc leak - help

I have between .5"-.75" inches if I cut to the right of the elbow. I could get in inch if I cut below the elbow, but I would have a coupling going directly on the concrete pad.
