    PH won't stay down

I had a similar problem when I started maintaining my pool. I didn’t realize the muriatic acid Home Depot sells locally in CA is not full strength and I was calculating incorrectly. I think it was around 13%. High TA was also causing it to rise fast, but I knew that was an issue.

Calcium hardness to high after a year

I live in the same area as you and our tap water is hard (225-300ppm). I did a partial refill about a year ago and my pool is currently around 800ppm CH. I manage controlling scale by keeping the TA and pH lower with muratic acid. Calcium hardness does not evaporate. Every time you add tap...

    CYA testing....Taylor's response.

For those of you stressed or anal-retentive about the accuracy of the results, use statistics. I recommend testing many times (with the same sample). Document the results in a spreadsheet. After you have more than a dozen results, average them. Use a "median" average (Middle value separating...

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

According to Marina, the 2018 S200 and S300 both come with two snap in filters (ultra-fine & spring). The 2018 S300i comes with a rough pre-filter and snap in ultra-fine. I just ordered an A30 (S300) from Marina. They confirmed it is the 2018 model. Per my request they are going to switch...

Anything I can do to keep pool from going green waiting on new pump and motor?

I had the same problem a couple years back and went without a pump for about a week and a half...maybe even closer to two weeks. We continued to check the chlorine level, brushed the sides daily, and added chlorine as needed. We managed to keep the pool clear during the whole episode.

Pricing Muriatic Acid 20 Baume 31.45%

I'm not in your region but I pay $6.50 a gallon for the HASA stuff locally. The price has gone up twice in 2017. I can get it a bit cheaper locally but the other location is less convenient they charge more for chlorine.

Fastes way to get refill of reagents?

You could check with TFtestkits to see if they can rush orders. Amazon has one day shipping for a price. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QRI2UCA/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3UHDM6AEUKJGQ&colid=3GBEBANUPSXLZ

    muratic acid?

Same here in Southern California. There are a couple independent pool stores near me that carry the HASA stuff so that is where I get it now and it is a way better value then the less than half strength HomeDepot stuff. Someone here sent me this link, and that is how I found them...

I am looking from suggestions/recomendations on buying a robot cleaner

Where did you find that price? I've been considering the Dolphin Triton Plus (S300i) for $900, but I think you paid less than $700 for a Active 20 (S200)? That sounds like a great deal. I like the idea of being able to use two filters (fine grids with a mesh basket insert) which I know you...

I am looking from suggestions/recomendations on buying a robot cleaner

Thanks for all the suggestions. This helps a lot in separating the different models from all the different names they use for the same models. I like the price of the e10, but I think the cord will be too short for my pool so I’ll probably start looking at some of the other robots mentioned...

I am looking from suggestions/recomendations on buying a robot cleaner

I am interesting getting a robot cleaner but overwhelmed by the options. The manufactures have many different bots, but do not do a good job differentiating their products from one another in the specifications. It concerns me because it’s almost like they want to make it difficult for the...

Bad muriatic acid? Added gallon still high ph.

Do you know what strength it is? I purchased several bottles from Home Depot before realizing it was only 14.5%. A gallon of that stuff barely dented my pH and TA when it was high. Now I buy the HASA stuff from a local pool store. I think it is 31.5% and a much better value.

Does "pooling" MA make it more efficient at lowering TA?

I see 31.45% MA on the Home Depot website and it's only a couple bucks more then the less than half strength stuff I've been buying (for 2 gallons), but they don't don't sell it within a 100 miles. ...probably a California thing. I can get 31.45% locally. It's just a special trip to the pool...
