How long should the cell last? We installed ours in May 2022, and today it is blinking green. Checked my calcium hardness and it's at 80. PH is high at 8.0 and alkalinity is also high at 110. CYA is at 40. Salt is at 3000, but I figure I need to get the other stuff balanced and the cell fixed...

Hi all, We opened our pool two days ago, much later than we usually open it and it was pretty swampy. We're making great progress and SLAMing is going well. When we opened, PH was 7.0 (possibly lower, test doesn't go below 7.0) and TA was 70. Been trying to get the PH up and it's now at 7.4...

We don't usually add any weekly. We keep an eye on the level of course, but with rain, we usually never have to add any ourselves except after we open it.

Thank you! The pool was installed in 1997, is it likely they'd be from settling after 25 years? Or also could be just after 25 years the equipment is starting to breakdown? I'm assuming it's a big to do to completely replace it?

Yes, it's for sure sodium carbonate. So I should be good with just that and not also adding sodium bicarbonate too to raise the TA?
