S400, a couple years old. When I put it on a cycle, it stops and starts when going in reverse and then gets pinned against the wall. It will go like 3 or 4 inches and then stop, then start up again. Once it comes to a wall, it will get stuck and won't reverse direction or climb. Going forward...

Seems the drive gear was not engaging the wheel. Took the motor out and plugged it in to self-test. Saw all motors were working as they should then re-assembled and put in to the pool and it worked fine.

I got a hold of a new Hayward actuator and I’m trying to find out if I can install it on a Hayward dial-a-Flo valve. It looks like the actuator only works with a handy style valve but I am seeing if anyone knows for certain.
