You are certainly going to want ventilation and dehumidification in any case, be sure to factor that into your costs. I would lean towards a softside intex-type pool for the sole reason that it will leave you with plenty of budget for the building infrastructure.

I think you are correct. Frustrating to dump new sand and go drop $60 on a different sand again! Alas, at least it is only 3 bags, not 10+!

Can't imagine weight being a problem on the slab.. a 52" water column exerts 1.9 PSI, the weakest concrete you will find is 2000 psi crushing strength. Substraight underneath would be the bigger issue - but again, the least bearing soil is around 2000 PSF, vs 275 psf in this case for the pool.

One more question... When i fill this new pool, is it better to add the required 3-4 lbs of stabilizer and use bleach, or should i use dichlor tablets for the first few weeks to chlorinate and increase CYA, transitioning to bleach once CYA gets to the appropriate level?

Curious - did the pool come with the ground tarp or did you purchase separately?
