    Plumbing question

I converted my 3600 gallon AGP to 1.5” pvc plumbing. It originally had the 1” hoses with a single return and two inlets. I also installed a Hayward skimmer and plugged off the middle inlet hole. The return is a 1” directional Hayward jet. I have good flow but my pressures for the 16” sand filter...

    Thanks TFP!

It was with a sand filter actually. It's never had a cartridge filter. I think you were looking at Lorri's signature. But thanks though!

    Thanks TFP!

Finally was able to stop the SLAM process this morning! I had to take a minor break from my previous SLAM due to a family emergency. When we came back home the pool had a white cloudy tint. I took a day and converted the pool over to PVC plumbing and a sidewall skimmer and now my flow rate is...

    SLAMing question

It occurred to me that I never checked behind the return nozzle and what do you know... I found a thin layer of green algae hiding. I cleaned it and put it back on. That being said what do you think the chances are that more could be hiding in the return line? Especially since I found some in...

    SLAMing question

Another thing I noticed is the pool liner is starting to discolor.

    SLAMing question

I did notice this morning that there was a lot more debris than usual in the skimmer basket and a layer of oil that had collected. Not sure where that would have came from. I’m thinking maybe that has a lot to do with the drop overnight?

    SLAMing question

Checked the pool again this morning and found a 3ppm loss and less than .5 CC. I go back to work tomorrow and won't have much of a chance to stop by the house to add chlorine to keep SLAM levels up. This might be problematic.

    SLAMing question

FC dropped to 16 by 6am today. Checked my CC and its back down to below 0.5. Looks like things are starting to shape up.

    SLAMing question

Testing about every 3 hours. Brushed once before sundown last night and twice today. Vacuumed once also plus a backwash. I'll backwash again in the morning and brush/vacuum.

    SLAMing question

I'll check it out. I just tested the water again to make sure I'm at 20ppm (I'm at 20.5) and thought I'd check for CC's. Interestingly enough it was at 1.5ppm! There is more going on in my pool than I though.

    SLAMing question

I've been checking it on my covered patio and the east wall of the house blocks a lot of the sun from the table. Should I be looking at it in the sun? Its a glass table so its still getting light from the underside. As far as letting the solution set I leave it for about a minute then check.

    SLAMing question

I was looking at the Pool Math app when I placed my values and the app recommended 16. I'll bump it up. I just checked my CYA again about an hour ago and I lose the black dot just above the 50 mark. Edit: Just checked the app again and the CYA amount was set to 40. I've been...
