Fortunately, it doesn't cost much to run the little heat pump on our 5K gallon pool. We do have some deciduous trees in the area, but I don't think we will see much leaf drop. The surrounding cedars drop needles all year - don't think that will change much in winter.

I am located in central VA, where the early October temps range from mid 50s - mid 70s, and we are still enjoying the pool. Wondering how late in the season others (presumably with heated pools) keep using theirs. I'm sure there is some point at which my little heat pump can't keep up, but...

I have the exact same pool (just posted pictures of my deck and pool install today). I had to guestimate the location of the foundation blocks (I used 18" x 18" x 2" blocks from Lowes). The supports are close to the edge of the foundation blocks at one end - should have shifted the blocks 6"...
