These kinds of doors are common in agriculture, though usually much larger. The cool thing is the kitchen occupies a very small space and the door serves as an awning while it is open. There is generally a counterweight that makes it easy to open and close. There are videos on youtube of people making DIY hangar-type doors.

That is a really cool idea. I have a salt water pool and I worry about what it will do, long term, to an outdoor kitchen. This idea solves that problem. You could even install a fold out bar. Thanks for the post!

That's a really great idea! Outdoor kitchens can be tricky in climates with cold/bad weather during part of the year, but that looks like a smart solution.
