New in-ground pool - Boston, MA. Lots of pics

Spool!!! I've missed so much while starting up my pool...... Yours is looking fabulous!!! I love the coping and waterline. And your decking is fabulous!!!! What are the stone pavers? They are beautiful and of course, go perfectly with everything else.

I can see why ya'll sit out with coffee in the mornings in front of an empty pool!!!! It looks terrific! None of my build ever looked that neat and clean! It still doesn't. Lol!!!! My deck was a sandy and mulchy mess until the day the crew finished and power washed it all. Now, the pine needles have begun to fall, so it's covered in pine needles!

I know exactly what you mean about the LightStreams glass. It's beauty cannot be captured in a photo. I have the sample of your Steel Blue, so I have a good idea of how it looks in person - just not in the quantity you will have. In fact Steel Blue was our first choice before we went with Peacock. Now I can't remember why we switched except we felt like the Steel Blue was too elegant for our pool and thought we needed more multi colors. But you and Paris (he has the same as you) both have such lovely, elegant pools. Steel Blue is perfect for your pools.

One more note on that. YOU haven't seen the full beauty of the glass tile until you see it with water!!! There is no describing. I had some concerns about getting this glass, but not after the pool was filled. Water and light truly make it come alive!!! And it always looks different - always beautiful, but different. I don't know if this will happen to you, but after the glass tile was grouted, I was disappointed. Even though we chose the darkest blue grout, I thought the grout looked white at a distance. I didn't like the checker-board look. But after the acid wash, the grout seemed to go to it's real color - much darker which is what I wanted. Now, I don't even notice the grout lines. As someone here on TFP has told me, wait until it's all said and done to make any judgments!

Ohhhhhh! I can't wait to see more!
Take care and enjoy,
Suz.

The team was out yesterday to complete laying the paver deck. They came in today to fill joints with polymeric sand but had to leave due to bad weather. They'll be back in the morning for the final touches. Here's the completed paver deck. The orange stakes in the ground are there to identify the conduit that was run for future electricity and irrigation. Those empty squares will be planters.

Things look amazing. I'm most impressed with my skimmers. In my broken Spanish I attempted to explain how I wanted the skimmer covers to look. Since my pool is very linear, I could not come to terms with a round plastic lid or even a pour a lid option. The result as you'll see below was spot on! Very clean and barely visible.

Also, take a look at my equipment pad. My PB had asked them to pour a 4' x 9' pad. The crew that was here did not have supplies to pour a pad so they improvised. I must say my equipment pad is stunning.

Wow, Spool! Your deck is amazing, and the skimmer lids are genius! Pretty good broken Spanish, I'd say! I've never seen those before, and you're so right, those are Design Perfection!

And..... you definitely win the BH&G award for equipment pads!!! I'm glad you took a picture of it before the equipment is installed. You're really setting the bar high for everyone else around here! I'm so glad I'm too late to follow you! Lol!!!!

I have to agree with all the girls, and mostly what Suz said, I am SO happy my pool build is done, or I would be copying that look. It drives me crazy how my skimmers stand out with the gray decking, and you are so right you can barely even notice yours, and I love how the change the direction of the pattern, its gorgeous.

The equipment pad if fantastic. mine is a darn mess, and yours is like artwork! Very jealous, its gorgeous, can't wait for this build to be done. Will be a stunner.

Thank you for the compliments. We are very happy with how things are coming along. That pad was simply a coincidence. I hadn't even focused on what it should look like and assumed it was going to be a concrete slab. I was shocked the paver crew placed so much attention to detail. They must have figured since i was so picky on the deck the equipment pad had to be equally special.

Marla, that mesh is a perimeter piece to keep pavers from shifting.

The exciting news is plaster on Monday. I'm a little skeptical but am exited to be so close.

Tomorrow morning they install equipment. Saturday they'll install the glass tile in the spa. Monday the plaster. Tuesday acid wash and fill. Fingers crossed!
