What did you do to your pool today?

Nice job on the waste line ;) I want to do the same for the same reason but need to trench it under a walkway and that's what's slowing me down :(

For trenching under a walkway, I watched my ex-FIL use a garden hose with a plain nozzle. He started it with a small hole and then just fed it under the walk until it reached the other side. It was a bit messy, with the water and mud but it seemed pretty easy. Just a thought. You could also try a sacrificial piece of pvc and just hammer it under there. put a cap on both ends and then feed it under with some persuasion. That depends on how hard your dirt is, though it might work okay.

Put a T on the PVC with a cap on the end and a garden hose fitting on the side. Then you can do both. Drive it a little while the water flows to push the dirt out.

Wow! Lots to catch up on again...

Freak storm last night, and the pool was trashed with tons of leaves, large twigs, and leaf clusters. Lots of dust blew in too, plus two lawn chairs. The Dolphin will be busy today and tomorrow for sure. Three gallons of bleach to get ahead of this one. Last time I let one of these go, I was playing catch up for three days with dull water, and much heavier than normal demand.

I did NOT look at it before I went to work this morning.

Yesterday, I received my TF-100 kit and was all excited. I wanted to see where I was after a week with just a pH and chlorine test kit. (pool is only a week old) Ran the course of tests last night, and wasn't too bad, CYA was pretty low, like I could still see the black dot. Made some adjustments, vacuumed, etc.

Weather called for a slight chance for rain.

In the middle of the night, we got a hellacious storm, >1.5" of rain. Hail, wind, etc.

So yeah, I did NOT look at the pool this am before work. I'll figure it out tonight. By the way, 60% chance of storms today.

Well, I ran the FC up to 9 yesterday, lost 0.5 last night so I'm good to go. Two good brushing and a run each of the coarse and fine filters in the M5 and we were back to perfect this morning. Ready for the weekend or next storm. :whoot:

Brushed yesterday, vacuumed today. Tried to put something to weigh down the new steps, but not successful. Time to do a little research..... (The hubs didn't want to put the sand in them like the instructions say. Hmpff.)

Well after about a month of fighting to find a Raypak dealer in our area that will install a heat pump we purchased one from PSW and decided we'll give it a go ourselves. After another month of trying to avoid working in the heat we found ourself with both a nice day outside and our electrician buddy free. :D Got this sucker up and running and water is heating up as we speak.

Fill a couple of bleach bottles with cement and attach them to the back side with zip ties so you can cut them off when you want to take the steps out.

I'd like to hear about how much your heating costs you when you get the next bill? I'm considering a little heat to extend my swim season
