I was just in Winnipeg last night... It's a little wet out there...do you have a more recent pic?
The DE you asked about "Stall Dry Absorbent and Deodorizer" does not appear to be heat treated. In that case it shouldn't be used. You could send them an Email and ask if it's heat treated and safe to use in a pool filter as a filter enhancer.
I found one but they show a four (25ls) bag minimum. But now I'm wondering if that was an on line minimum. Let me see if I can pull them up, there are in Winnipeg.
Heat treated is also referred to as "sintered" if you happen to physically come across any and look at the label. Food Grade does not work as it's the same as the gardening or insect killing grade.
Might even find some at a pet store for aquariums ??? But I'd check the package as I don't know if it's heat treated.

You will be so happy when this pool is an absolute breeze to care for......soon Happy Swims![]()
You're still brushing correct? I would also suggest cleaning the filter cartridges but you have a sand filter... Be patient, it's coming to an end...![]()
Have you done a deep cleaning of the filter? http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/73192-Deep-Cleaning-a-Sand-Filter
Have you pulled light fixtures, ladders, steps, ropes, etc. and scrubbed every nook and cranny?
Again, what is the CYA level?
Your pump is in your garage? That could get messy for sure.
Do yo have a shop vac and wheelbarrow? You could shop vac out the sand and put it in to your wheelbarrow to take outside to wash out. Just an idea.
Have you tried going to mustard shock level? I started at that level for the first day then brought it to that level past few nights.... im am seeing the results and have been brushing a lot, even took my ladder out and scrubbed thoroughly with 50/50 solution.
