Phoenix backyard build under way! Follow along!

Thanks guys! Here are theAnd the final build pictures...

Doing the layout for the irrigation ditches
18.jpg

My worker for a few days :)
19.jpg

Ditches done
20.jpg

Putting the irrigation manifold together...this was actually kind of fun!
21.jpg

A little sloppy on the glue but it works :D
22.jpg

All done and hooked up!
23.jpg

Sprinkler and dripper pipes...
24.jpg

25.jpg

The multi-port drippers...each port puts out a regulated 2 gallons/hour
26.jpg

I ran a "spaghetti" line to each plant and secured in place with little specialty stakes...
27.jpg

Nice and neat.
28.jpg

29.jpg

These are the deep watering stakes for the trees. I wanted them on a automatic timer so I don't have to run a hose to each tree weekly etc. Hopefully they never clog.
30.jpg

Pounded then into the ground...
31.jpg

And ran water to each of them (12 gallons/hour for the big trees, 8 gallons/hour for the smaller trees)
32.jpg

Finally time to put in the sod...pretty easy work except the edges are **** time consuming.
33.jpg

Cool little trick I stumbled upon on accident...if you press the sod into the sprinkler head, it leaves a perfect little trace so you can cut it out accurately!
34.jpg

Rented a roller from Home Depot and finished the job...
35.jpg

This was a last minute change, we decided to do a little flower bed instead of having more grass in this area...
36.jpg

My wife helping out. :D
37.jpg

And the last step...program all the valves!

38.jpg

So happy it's finally done...I was out there for 10-11 hours per day some days almost non stop...I have a **** of a farmer's tan! :D Hope everyone enjoyed the build!

Thanks man. I am using a few different lights...

For the pygmy palms and the peach tree, I have the Malibu 20 Watt Pro Style Flood Light: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ZRPMS6
They are ok lights, kind of cheaply built and the connector sucks, but they are somewhat cheap and small in size which is what I needed.

For the 3 bigger trees, I'm using Kichler Mini-Accent Lights: http://www.amazon.com/Kichler-Lighting-15374AZT20L-Mini-Accent-Architectural/dp/B001CAHQIG
Great build quality, a little bit bulkier than the Malibu and more expensive. I got mine locally at Sprinkler World for a very decent ~$35/light, about 1/2 what I found online.

For the dome lights, they are Kichler Dome Path Lights: http://www.amazon.com/Kichler-Lighting-15410AZT-Textured-Architectural/dp/B001EGSLG4
Again from Sprinkler World for around $48/light. They come in two heights and I have both depending on where it's placed.

I also highly recommend picking up a bunch of these wire connectors: http://www.lightingdirect.com/kichl...!15631227809&gclid=CLfM8dy9ob0CFVJffgod1WQA7A

The Kichler Dome lights come with one for each light, but their Mini-Accent lights don't and of course neither do the Malibu lights. It makes connecting the lights to the main low voltage line much easier and a lot more secure. Works with both 10 gauge and 12 gauge wire.

Looks great. Where in phx are you

Thank Modawk...we're in north Peoria.

oooh, stuccoed the cinder property wall. We are seriously considering doing that. Can you recap that process?

It's pretty straightforward...we didn't do it ourselves but the company that did it basically bought the stucco from Home Depot (Base B I wanna say it was called), mixed it with water in a portable cement mixer and laid it on the fence. They did two coats. Then we waited a couple of weeks until the PH level of the stucco was under 8.0 and they painted it, again with two coats.

Looks good! And the Whitfill nursery folks are good people. To answer your question from above, poly gas pipe is cheaper and easier to work with than rigid pipe, plus it basically lasts forever. Quick word of advice: make sure that your ash trees get deep watering. They grow quickly, and will take water from wherever they can get it. (i.e. roots running thru your grass).
