I have a hayward pump that I love and it's fairly brand new. I know they don't last forever, but in 10 years, this model won't be available. Would it be stupid to buy an identical pump and keep it in storage for 10-15 years?!?! Can a pump sit that long without ever being used?!?!
Can I buy a spare Hayward pump and keep it in storage until needed?

There are probably 15 year old NOS (New Old Stock) sitting in some Pool Stores back rooms.
If you can pickup one for a good price and store it in a dry place then go for it.
