Pool Looking Green - Opening Tomorrow

Hello,
My pool company is coming to open my pool tomorrow for the first time since I built it last year. They recommended I add enough water so that they can start the filter when they arrive. When I opened up the cover the water is green…Is it time to panic, or can I do something immediately tomorrow to start getting the algae out? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update: they opened my pool today and I’m already making some progress. See photos attached. However, the pressure of my return jets is like a quarter of the strength I remember it being. I’m assuming that this is due to a clog somewhere and not because of an issue with my pump. The skimmers are clear and the main drains seem to be free of obstructions as well. Is it possible that in just a few hours I need to backwash my filter and recharge with DE?

Yes, it's entirely possible that you need to backwash already. That algae is collecting in the DE. You need to backwash when your pressure rises to 25% higher than the clean filter pressure, if you know it. Have some DE available to refill the filter.

Uhoh, when SLAMming I think I added too much liquid chlorine. My CYA is about 70 and pool math says to shock I should be at about 28 ppm FC. I am currently at 49ppm. Is that going to cause issues to my pool/equipment or is it ok for now?

Also, my pool company left me a little bottle of algaecide and said I should add it tomorrow. Is there any benefit in doing that or will the chlorine be enough to kill the algae? I do understand that algaecide is preventative and not the answer to an active algae problem. Thanks as always!

One time event will not be a problem.

No. Do not add it. We do not recommend algaecide.
