Ok, I get it now. There’s a good chance it started way over 20 and will eventually get down below 20. You may only be losing 1-2ppm per day. That’s the trouble with estimating stuff like this. Best advice is to not estimate anymore and it’ll be less confusing.

Did you mean a Taylor K2006?
Is it the smaller K2006 or is it the K2006C?

Updated the signature. The push/pull is stuck. I am ordering the multi point valve now.

Evidently CYA is way higher than I expected, last time it was this high was 3 years back when I had to drain the pool half way. I assume this is what I have do now.

The CYA test is generally +/- 10 ppm. When the diluted test is performed it is +/- 20 ppm.
If you got 100 on one and 80 on another that confirms your CYA is around 90-100.

Are you sure you’re doing the chlorine tests correctly? It would seem to be very difficult to have a CC of 3.0. Or maybe that’s a typo?
Your choice if you forge ahead with a 40 FC slam target which will be hard to maintain, and costly, or you drain to significantly lower the CYA.

Yes I did, the concentration is so high that I have to do with 5ml multiplier. I did Chlorine test so many times that I was giving up after 20, now I finally got it go colorless at 30.
In the 5 mL case, that would be three drops for the cc to go from pink to clear? You got some very dirty water if that’s the case. Not Sure I’d waste any money trying to save that kind of water. Unless I was in a desert type area with expensive water.
Correct, 5ml with 3 drops from pink to clear. I can confirm it's very dirty (lot of trees in the yard for every season to drop something in the pool).
I am in process of draining. Sump pump out at 8-9gpm and hose exchange in at 5gpm. Any suggestions on how far to drain when it's this dirty?

What is your goal? If draining to reduce CYA the reduction will be proportional to how much you drain. So if you want to cut the CYA in half, then drain half the pool. If you want to drop your CYA from 100 to 30, then drain 70% of your pool. If it were me, I would drain more than half and then quickly refill before this weeekend when it is supposed to rain.
I think I will shoot for CYA 30 with 70% drain. I am currently scrub everything towards the sump suction so that pool filter has easier time later.

You have the Taylor K2006 (sometimes referred to as K2006A). It has the small 0.75 oz bottles.
You will likely run out of at least the key reagents in less than one pool season if you are testing regularly.
I'd suggest ordering a K2006C refill kit from Refill Sets
Or at least the R-0870, R-0871 and R-0013 reagents.

Close to back in business. Drained to 95%, was initially going to do 70%, but water was very dirty and adjusted till it was clear enough. Refill took about 30 hours. Now waiting for Chlorine to mix in to do the readings.

Yeah. What's the point when already draining a big chunk ? Just wipe the dang slate clean.
