Thats my pool!!The deck, brick and fence can all produce fine brown dust when a pressure washer is used.View attachment 635108
Thanks for your reply.Go to Walmart or wherever and buy a cheap kiddie wading pool. Set it up, full of fresh water, on the deck near your real pool. Maybe add a few splashes of CL if so inclined. Watch it for a few days - does it get the dirt also? If so, something environmental - dirt, pollen, etc. If not, then you have algae growing in your real pool.
I will say this, what ever it is....it's very persistent and the water is clear. Thanks for your reply.
I think I am inclined to follow that for now and once my FC target level reaches 10 or slightly less, then I will test and adj my PH. And continue to brush and vac daily and change out filter more oftenI'm inclined to blame the leftovers on pollen, which was likely present this whole time but less visible.
I'd let it drift back to target range and stay just above it for now, falling back to high target with the daily loss. Pollen will take 2 or 3 weeks to subside. Even when it pours or the wind howls, it seems to be full strength the next day. Lol.
Think you're spot on. We're a bit up the road in DFW Metroplex. Tons of blown brown/red dust for a week followed by 2+ weeks of continual pollen. Our pollen is a yellow/greenish color but then quickly transitions to a dark yellow/light brown once in pool.Made first test this morning around 1130A after returning system back to normal. FC=4, a little lower than I wanted, PH +++8. The brown stuff appeared to be a little less, but never got worse or appeared to grow.. So continuing to brush and vac. Started adding muratic acid in small amounts to work on the high PH. Attached is a photo from this morning.
I am gonna go out on a limb here and say after pouring a lot of bleach in the pool over the last few days, and the brown stuff has neither gotten any larger or gone away.
That this must a pollen / air bore thing
