Hi
I’m opening pool in S.C. Hayward aquqrite t900 Recalibrated after addition of salt. It reads 3900 while tds meter reads 2890. My tds meter hasn’t been calibrated for a long time. Cell looked good visually.

Brand new cell at the end of last season.

Salt was at 2000 and added 4 bags per pool math to get to 3400. About 13880 Gallons.

64 degrees
27.8 v
4.88 amps

Any ideas?

Used an aqua check strip
~ 6.2 - 6.4 — 2840-3090

How accurate are these? Much closer to tds meter than salt cell….

Complete waste of time. If they’ve been sitting around for any length of time outside their vacuum packing, they become less effective.

The K-1766 is the only accurate measure because the chemistry of the test is such that it only reacts to chloride ions in the water. So it is an exact test. Everything else is based on measuring a proxy value (conductivity or capillarity) and that is inherently inaccurate.
