I wonder why Pentair Install Manual mentions connecting Black / Yellow / Green only in the RS-485 section, line #8?
When I asked the same, i was told by a pentair rep that the addition of the black gnd wire helps mediate any potential electrical "noise" on the rs485 bus due to the potential length of that cable.

Black acts like a ground and can help the RS-485 signal. Connect it if you want to.

Usually use just yellow/green and connect black only if there are problems.

I'm getting close to being fully up and running. Plumbing work is nearly done, one broken pipe to be fixed. All electrical has been run and IntelliCenter "reprogrammed".

However, I'm having a two weird issues, that even Pentair Support is puzzled by.

All the sudden a "new" AUX-CIRCUITS (PANEL 5)" is showing up in some of my System Configuration screens. There is nothing attached to it, but I have no idea why it is showing up, nor how to remove it.

Also, I'm no longer able to edit Circuits thru web interface. I can make change, but when I click "save" it does not adopt the change. However, if I go the IntelliCenter Panel, I can make changes without issue.

As a note, I performed a factory reset this morning and "rebuilt" the system configuration at the IntelliCenter Panel with its touchscreen.

Any ideas?

What level firmware did your panel come with and what is in it now?

I think the original firmware was 1.0.47 and panel was running 3.002 before the factory reset. After the factory reset, the panel remained at 3.002 and did not revert back to 1.0.xx.

I think you have some 3.002 bugs. Escalate it with Pentair Support.

Try shutting off all the breakers then removing and re-seating the personality card.

What's odd is that I dont think I have a personality card, however, my system registers as an i10PS. The IC that I have was an upgrade kit to an IntelliTouch i9.
Standard card is a i5P. Anything beyond a i5P has a personality card.
