Pump Housing Leak?

I’ve learned a lot from reading this forum and thanks to all who contribute. I had a pool installed a little over 4 years ago and had to learn a lot during the process. Had the pool pump replaced last year after the original one burned up. Got rid of the in line chlorinator for a floater.

The issue I’m having now is that the pump housing looks to be leaking. I replaced the o-ring hoping it was an easy fix, but still leaking. In the photo you can see it leaking near the foot of the housing and flowing in line with the stamped concrete. These housings are fairly expensive so just wanted to see if there was anything else it could be?

Please do this so the experts can chime in . Take a pictures of housings labels and pool motor label. And see if you can get a better angle and closeup of leak area. This one photo is not all that informative.

Looks to be a slight amount of corrosion on the front of the motor. That would indicate a shaft-seal leak. If the water is coming from the back of the wet-end, that is the first thing to suspect.

You are right, and I’ll take more pictures tomorrow.

I do have this picture to show where it’s coming from. Using the foot of the housing for orientation, the pump attaches to the housing just behind it. The motor sits on a pedestal which keeps it off the ground. I checked underneath and there’s no water under the pump. I replaced the o-ring as well so that isn’t the issue either. It seems to me that the water is coming from directly under the housing. One other item to mention is that it only leaks while running.

I’m not sure of the brand of motor but will update that tomorrow.

We need the make and model of the PUMP, not the motor. The Make/Model should be on the volute, not on the motor.

You will want to get a go-kit for the motor and do a complete rebuild, including the shaft seal.

It looks like a hayward superpump, which would be a go-kit 3.

Confirm the proper go-kit with your actual make/model.
