Taylor K-2006 Refills or New Kit

Taylor K-2006 Refill Set will not fit in the container and I want to keep them store in the container.
Clean and reuse the old bottles with the new reagents.
Alternatively, does anyone have a new kit suggestion?
The TFpro comes with a smart stir if you dont already have one and the TFpro salt adds the $30 salt kit for only $20 more.

If you already have a stirrer, the small comparator block and the CYA tube, you can buy the TFpro case ($32) and the refill reagents ($54).

I get the reading for salt on my Aqualink. Was told that is accurate. What are your thoughts?

You should never adjust the salt content from the cell or digital testers either handheld or from the pool store. It only comes out quickly by draining, or you might drain a good chunk for no reason.

If you have the others and occasionally check them with the more reliable K1766 drop test, then you can trust them in the short term.

Thats a great price for all the refills. It just cost me $60 for the FAS/DPD set and the use by date is not the best. As suggested, drain, clean and refill the old bottles but I would prefer to use the new ones. Cleaning can be tricky to do it properly. And I would be using the new tips if they fit. Try searching for the K2006C case only. I have a plastic tackle box which I use to store my extra stuff.

The K2006 case is really a bit small for everything including the speedstir which is an absolute must. You’re already at $50, consider the TF pro which has the case smart stir and larger bottles. I would keep using your 2000 series comparator. The cost of a kit is easily recouped in spades when you self test and manage.

I buy the Taylor K2006 refill kit you linked during their March (?) sale and store all my testing reagents and equipment in a Plano two tray tackle box I bought from Academy Sports for $14.99.

What is the recommended kit for SWG?
The Tfpro salt or TF100 salt is just the regular kit with the K1766 tossed in. It's $20 more bundled instead of buying the regular kit plus the $30 K1766.

The K2006(no C) has 2.7 times less supplies than the TF100 for the same price.

The K2006C and TFpro are the same price and the TFpro includes a $50 stirrer and the reagents are lined up with how we do things. The K2006C has too many CH and TA tests and not enough FC for how we roll.

What is the sale usually?
About $10 off in the mid $40s. I forget which one was which but the K2006C and TF100/ pro refills were $44 and $45 this last spring.

Which kit do you recommend for SWG? I am also considering the electronic devices. But have read mixed stuff on them on here. I do not have any more SW regents, but can probably wait as the SWG is not currently generating chlorine due to the low temps. Regardless, I need to buy a new set if I want the regants to fit.

TFpro salt for a full kit, or just the K1766 for salt only.

Many work until they don't, so you still need the K1766 to verify the digital testers occasionally. I'm not against toys. In fact, i love them. But in this case, if i have to double check the digital tester anyway, what's the point ? The consistency is also a wider window with the digital testers, again needing confirmation when it seems wonky.
Regardless, I need to buy a new set if I want the regants to fit.
Lots of ways to skin that cat listed above, from starting over, reusing and/or getting a tacklebox or just the TFpro case for the refill bottles. Its all personal preference and they're all good. :)

I use a handheld salt meter but to be confident in the results I calibrate it with lab grade calibration solutions that can cost just as much as the meter. There is no such thing as a plug and play, ready to use, or pre calibrated meter, they all require a higher skill set than the drop tests. There will always be a difference of opinion, the void between those that sell the stuff and those that know how to use it.

Making it all fit can be tricky, depends on what you want, what you have, and what you’re willing to do or put up with. I resorted to a bit of fabrication and copped some of my comparators in half. Probably a bit extreme but I got it all to fit in the smaller case.

The larger case is much easier to fit the essentials without needing the power tools. I still have my tackle box and occupy whole cupboard for all the other stuff including the glassware.

Which case is this?

^^^^ that said, $7 more at full price wouldn't break me if I needed them now. :)

I don't see where a magnetic stirrer and extra vials fit in the TF-100 case
Most of us reconfigured the partitions how we needed. Mine wasn't pretty needing room for the speed stir and salt kit, but it worked.

I appreciate the organization of the the TFpro every last time I use it.
